Engine
This bike comes with a air-cooled, 1690cc, twin-cam, V-twin engine. Fuel injection makes for effortless cold starts and smooth power delivery. The motor is undersquare, with a cylinder bore and stroke of 98 x 111 mm (the stroke, or length, of the cylinder is greater than its bore, or width). Undersquare engines make better torque down low in the rev range, but typically don't produce as much power as an oversquare engine of the same displacement would.
Compared to the average 2016 Touring Motorcycle with a 1500cc+ engine, which has a compression ratio of 9.60:1, the Dyna Wide Glide:
- Has a typical compression ratio
- Is 1% less efficient
